I wonder where the speeding cars have gone?
They are rested, so have stopped their honk.
I wonder where the children on the field have gone?
They are hurried back to home.
I wonder how the footpaths have sprung up?
Hawkers don’t hawk as life goes mum.
I wonder where the old men go who walk by the twilight around Town School Lake bending on stick?
Nursing Homes, perhaps, where now they stay put to safe after falling sick.
What makes the banyan tree so empty at Court Compound?
Law-givers and takers don’t tread on and so the birds abound.
What makes man so masked?
A tiny virus, my readers, makes him mightily benumbed.
What makes surround so down?
Lock-down that unlocks forlorn.
When’ll life get hectic?
On the other side of pandemic.
When will that ease?
After the grime, comes the grin.
You know all, light only dawns after the grim.
