It all started like this: I love you. Then after sometime it generally happens: I leave you. In between there is some discord. The cord of love is gone. So an affair starts with separation.

It so happens because man confuses love with relationship. Relationship depends on other. Love blossoms in self. The key to relationship is diligent management of other’s mood. The key to love is indulgence in self. Relationship strives for effort. Love thrives in spontaneity. In that way, relationship is bondage. Love is liberation.

In some special moment, I see someone as my own self. Then a stream starts flowing between us. That moment of seeing the other as my own self is love. But that someone, whom I consider to be my own self, remains just the other deep inside. Calling someone else as my own self is a recognition of fact that the other is simply another, who I think one with me.

As the other remains another, sometimes I am tempted to call another a stranger when the stream does not flow because of emotional distance. When the other comes closer emotionally, the stream starts flowing again; the other is recognized as a lover. Within a space of twenty four hours, opinions keep shuttling several times between a stranger and a lover!

It is true for other fields of relationship too. Always the one I call my own is the other. Thus a husband is the other, however much he is mine. A wife is the other, however much she is mine. A son/daughter is the other, however much he/she is mine. A friend is the other, however much he/she is mine.

The feeling of other is always there, in spite of calling someone my own. It is all about relationship.

True love never identifies. Love flourishes within. It finds joy in anything it loves to think or see or hear.

A look at blue sky can inspire love.

A murmur of river can fountain love.

A pair of beautiful eyes can ignite love.

Love is independent of identification.

Relationship is dependent of identification.

Love fosters.

Relationship festers.

Let the mind play flute of love. Let the soul dance to its tune.
