Sometimes it feels good to look back. It is badly needed to trace back where we were and to track our journey down the years.
Life cannot be a simple straight line. If it is, then well, it is not life. Life is some total of experience. It is nothing else, nothing less, nothing more. Experiences shape up our life. Good experiences can make for good memories. Bad experiences make us sadder.
We should not question why we should experience bad things in life; why our experiences should not get confined to only good things. Because then we run the risk of having a very boring unilinear life. Life will miss its colour and lustre.
Certainty cannot be the sole mantra of life. Uncertainty is needed to make the right balance. A life full of certainty makes us live in a plush room that has everything except thrill. For thrill, we need to go down to the road that has speeding traffic, rush of public, controlling traffic constable and ambling pedestrians. In between, accidents can happen. Irate mobs can form. Ambulance can zip in. After that it is again life as usual until another accident.
Thus life moves on. Some fume, some fret, some repent, some resent some smile and some laugh aloud along the way.
It has been happening since man comes to earth. All this is within man’s knowledge. Still man looks for exclusive happiness.
The more exclusive man gets, the more inclusive life gets. Joys and sorrows come together. Happiness and unhappiness stay together. A bout of ecstasy can only prelude a spell of agony.
When man asserts his authority with absolute impunity over everything around, comes an invisible enemy against whom he is locked in an epic battle. Millions lie wayside as they cannot cope up. The rest is watching with bated breath.
Uncertainty looms large.
In the midst of it, flowers bloom. Butterflies flutter over and sit still on them for nectar. Rains pour. Poets write. Singers sing. Dancers dance. Birds twitter.
Life flows certain in times of uncertainty.
It is life and its magic.
