Bhishma fell from his chariot as Arjuna aimed arrow after arrow at him. As he fell, the array of arrows supported his body and prevented it from touching the ground. He asked Arjuna to provide a support for his head as it dangled off. Arjuna shot three arrows that provided a pillow for Bhisma.

Now all warriors came up to him and surrounded Bhishma’s arrow-pierced body. The Pandavas too were there led by Shree Krishna. Tears came from Bhisma’s tired eyes.

‘Are you crying?’ Someone from the assembly asked.

‘Yes.’ Bhishma said. ‘If the Panadavas are subject to such enormous misery and misfortune in spite of being led by none other than Krishna who is a God Himself, what will happen to common man? Thinking of it, tears involuntarily roll down my eyes.’ He said.

All stood silent. Bhisma passed away.

Krishna had to preside over the complete destruction of the yadavas, the clan He belonged to, at the fag end of His life. A nondescript hunter killed Krishna when he was taking rest under a tree. Mistaking his movement for a wild animal, the hunter shot an arrow at Him that struck His foot at the instep and went right through up His body.

Jesus, the Messanger of God, had to bear the Cross and nails across his body. He fell dead in a pool of blood.

Ramakrishno paromahangsa suffered from deadly throat cancer and died of it.

God is a presence in mind, just like a strain of favourite song, to feel happy about. Worshipping God does not mean the life of worshipper will be blessed with peace, secured with longevity and armed with warding off hassles. Those who pray to God keeping in mind these interests can be self-seekers, not devotees.

The radical truth…”probhu aro probhu aro aro..emni kore amae maro”…is the right thing to ask from God…that helps in battling life..nothing else…
